Lots Of Advice On Getting Your Ideal Wedding

Getting married in an off-season will lower your wedding costs. Traditional wedding season is from May to September. Venues tend to be pricier during these months. Should you have to book during the season, do so well in advance to garner your best deal.

Tip Going online to purchase your wedding dress can save you a small fortune. However, you should make sure that you order it well before the big day in order to allow time for any alterations to be carried out should they be needed.

A lot of people spend lots of time and energy planning their wedding. When it becomes time to plan your own, be sure to keep in mind the great advice offered in the article below.

When planning speakers for your wedding, they need to rehearse the speech prior to the day in front of you so that you know everything is appropriate. Certain jokes or comments might not sit well with certain age groups.

Tip Your wedding photos are of the utmost important, since you will view them forever. It might cost a littler extra to do so, but hire yourself a professional photographer so that on your big day you can get the quality of photographs you desire for your momentous occasion.

Marriages between people of different faiths are common nowadays, but it helps to discuss how this will affect your marriage, in-laws and children, before you marry. You should talk about religion not only with your fiance but his family as well, to build understanding between you.

You can use the property of someone you know for your wedding. Instead of booking a ballroom, try holding your wedding in a backyard or field instead. Offer to pay people to come into the place ahead of time to do some cleaning and then after the event, and that will be the only costs.

Tip The most important thing to consider when you get married is obviously the person you marry. Do not rush this life altering lifelong decision.

Your wedding should be as unique as your relationship is, so add a few touches specific to your personalities or relationship. Select a theme that represents the time that you have spent with each other.

Brides should focus on getting down a skincare regimen that makes their skin flawless for the wedding. Look for facials that include ingredients known for being gentle and soothing, such as oatmeal proteins.

Tip See that the lighting at the reception venue has the ability to be dimmed. You may not think this detail is important; however, consider the effect of low lights on parts of your reception.

You can use the property of someone you know for your wedding. If you know a person with a large backyard or farm, you can get rid of a huge wedding cost. Your only expense should be paying someone to clean before and after the wedding.

When you are planning a multi-course meal for your guests, offer some sort of appeasement on the tables to keep people occupied during the change in courses. Sugar roses, sugar petals or even crackers will do.

Tip Ask your family and friends if they have any heirloom pieces you could borrow which would match your hairstyle and dress. This can help you achieve a nice look, while also letting you focus money in other areas to make your wedding much better.

Brides that have sensitive skin can get less stressed before their wedding by caring for their skin so that it looks great and won’t cause them to have a breakout when the time comes. Find products with oatmeal proteins and sea salts, for example.

If you are going to be giving a wedding speech, make sure that you practice and plan appropriately. If you fail to plan your wedding speech, you may lose your guest’s attention, flub your words, or forget what you have to say.

Tip Instead of elaborate and pricy floral arrangements, consider placing various potted plants around the ceremony and the reception venues. Use some glazed, colorful ceramic pots or embellish earthy terracotta stoneware using decoupage, ribbons, or some fancy paint effects.

Place a full length mirror at that head of the aisle and practice walking toward it. This will help insure a trip-free wedding day. Find attractive flats if you find the walk difficult. Having less than sexy footwear is an easy trade-off for not falling on your derriere!

If the bride’s happiness is the ultimate priority for her big day, it is essential that the wedding meets her standards. If she is left to worry about all of the planning, reservations and meals, and the wedding doesn’t live up to what she has been hoping for, it could be a disappointing day for the both of you. The bride’s wishes must be followed or you will be facing an angry bridezilla!

Tip Write your own vows for the wedding. It may be less work to use something already written, but you know your future spouse the best.

If you want a wedding in Las Vegas, do it. If you are looking for a traditional and meaningful wedding that does not involve Vegas, consider applying the tips from the article above to create a wedding you can be proud of for generations to come.

The task of choosing the individual who will record the event is at the top of the importance list and you should ask to see his past work and for references. Sound quality and video editing are just as important as capturing the shot. You could get wedding on VHS tapes a long time ago, but getting them on digital video or DVDs can help you enjoy them for years. Go with your gut and the factors above when making the choice of which videographer to hire.

How To Get Your Dream Wedding Easily

This celebration of love is your fairy-tale ending and the wedding will be a memory that will never be forgotten. Wedding planning is often agonizing for folks, but that need not always be the case. Using the advice you learned here, you will have everything you need to start planning the wedding of your dreams.

For food, consider going to a store such as Costco. If you’re shopping wholesale, you are able to get a lot of food for less money than shopping retail. You can also see if your friends can help with food costs.

Do not starve yourself just to fit into the wedding dress you want. This will only make you lightheaded and dehydrating, and it could even make you ill. You definitely don’t want to end up fainting on your big day. The best idea is to purchase a dress that has a corset back. This will allow you to adjust if necessary before walking down the aisle.

Of course, the most important aspect of getting married is choosing the right intended! There is not need to hurry this important choice. Give this person’s habits and peccadilloes a great deal of consideration.

When you choose a makeup artist to help you with your wedding, you definitely want to check out prior work. Do you like how they do their work? Make sure that the style matches your vision. You certainly would hate to be minutes from walking down the aisle only to discover that you hate your makeup.

Women with skin that is sensitive should adopt a healthy skincare routine a couple months before their wedding day. Find a facial treatment that has a skin soothing set of ingredients such as sea salts, rose, and oatmeal proteins.

Excessive Flowers

Don’t overcrowd your wedding reception tables with excessive flowers. Flowers can be obstructive to guests a lot of the time. Excessive flowers can also be inconvenient for any allergy sufferers who are attending your wedding. You might consider placing non-scented candles in the middle of the table for an understated, romantic look.

Don’t make guests wait as you take photos. Photos of the bride and her party and the groom and his groomsmen should be taken ahead of time. Pictures with the couples respective parents should also be taken in advance to cut down on wait time for the guests arriving at the reception.

Weddings are a truly joyful time in life. But such a big event means that there are many details to plan for. By using the advice that you have just read, you can make sure that your wedding is memorable in all the right ways.

Subliminal Learning is a Hoax

Subliminal Learning is a Hoax

I looked up “subliminal learning software” on Google and got about 53,800 results. I only read a few of them but many of the websites were selling subliminal learning software. One advertiser says:

Experience what many describe as “the most powerful personal growth/mind development tool on Earth.” Creates quantum leaps in self-awareness, dramatically lowers stress, sharpens thinking. Dramatically accelerates personal and spiritual growth, guaranteed.

This is an extreme claim for a methodology than is a scam.

You will notice the weasel words in the subliminal blurb: Experience what many describe as “the most powerful personal growth/mind development tool on Earth.” Who are these 'many' people? Are they research scientists, psychologists, friends of the writer – and how many is 'many', 3, 300, 3,000?

One website that ranks high in a Google search contains subliminal learning CDs that are published on Amazon. Subliminal learning is a $50 million industry. But, as former Google CEO Eric Schmidt said in August 2010 “the internet is fast becoming a 'cesspool' where false information thrives”. Websites selling subliminal learning contribute to the cesspool of false information.

Many people try to rip us off, some of them are selling things on the Internet, that 'cesspool where false information thrives'. All you can do is look at the credentials of the people trying to sell you things. Are they qualified: what qualifications do they have? Do they have research, published in reputable books and journals, in the fields in which they profess to be experts? Can they support their claims with reputable research? Do they cite reputable research studies rather than unqualified opinions?

The following information comes from The Skeptic's Dictionary[1]:

Anything truly below the level of detectable sensation could not, by definition, be perceived. However, the subliminal is generally said to be below the threshold of conscious perception. There is a widespread belief, not strongly supported by empirical research, that without being aware of its presence or content, a person's behavior can be significantly affected by subliminal messages. Thus, it is believed that one can influence behavior by surreptitiously appealing to the subconscious mind with words and images. If this were true, then advertisers could manipulate consumer behavior by hiding subliminal messages in their ads. The government, or Aunt Hilda for that matter, could control our minds and bodies by secretly communicating to us subliminally. Learners could learn while listening to music embedded with subliminal messages. Unfortunately, “…years of research has resulted in the demonstration of some very limited effects of subliminal stimulation” and no support for its efficaciousness in behavior modification[2]

And consider this:

The fact that there is almost no empirical support for the usefulness of subliminal messaging has not prevented numerous industries from producing and marketing tapes which allegedly communicate directly with the unconscious mind, encouraging the “listener” not to steal, or coaching the “listener” to have courage or believe in his or her power to accomplish great things. Consumers spend more than $50 million each year on subliminal self-help products.[3]

If subliminal messaging did work then it would frighten not only conspiracy theorists. The thought that a government or a commercial organization could subliminally program minds would frighten most people.

It is not surprising that some people are prepared to spend $50 million a year on dubious technology. Subliminal learning offers an easy way, and many people are looking for quick fixes for their problems such as obesity or smoking. But, as the old English proverb says: “If wishes were horses, beggars would ride”.

Belief in subliminal messaging appears to have originated in 1957 with James Vicary, an advertising promoter who claimed to have increased popcorn sales by some 58% and Coca-Cola sales by some 18% in a New Jersey movie theater by flashing the messages “Drink Coca-Cola” and “Hungry – Eat Popcorn” on the movie screen. The messages, he claimed, were on-screen for only 1/3000th of a second, far too short a time for people to read them.

Vance Packard retold the Vicary story in The Hidden Persuaders, his mega bestseller about the advertising industry also in 1957, before Vicary admitted in 1962 to lying about his experiment and falsifying the results.[4] The Hidden Persuaders was a huge hit. Packard's book was entertaining and persuasive. It was fiction presented as fact, though the author may have believed what he said, because he believed Vicary.

The story of subliminal messages was, Vicary admitted five years later, a marketing ploy.[5] It was a very effective marketing ploy; the myth of subliminal messaging resonates to this day.

You would think that when someone openly admits to fraud the myth would disappear, but people like their myths and irrational beliefs. Prove to a Birther that Obama really was born in Hawaii, and you will only strengthen his beliefs.

Had anybody bothered to check Vicary's claim at the time he made it they would have found that the little cinema in Fort Lee, New Jersey, where his experiment was alleged to have taken place, could not possibly have had the 45,699 visitors he claimed through its doors in the space of six weeks. Some people believe that Vicary did not conduct his alleged experiment at all.

There is consensus among psychologists that subliminal messages do not produce any enduring effect on behavior.[6] Laboratory research reveals little effect.[7] Research into claims of lasting effects such as weight loss, smoking cessation, and exploiting customers in marketing conclude that there is no effect beyond a placebo. [8]

If you really want to learn something do not rely on subliminal messages. Brainwave entrainment can do the job so much more effectively at lower cost, and it is not subliminal; you can hear those isochronic tones very clearly. In fact since subliminal learning has zero effect, brainwave entrainment is infinitely more effective. Don't waste your money on subliminal learning materials, invest in brainwave entrainment instead, it is no more expensive, and it actually works.

This Is What You Need For A Luxurious Wedding

You can get a better rate on almost any venue by booking during an off period. The wedding season traditionally begins in May lasting through September. Wedding venues are more expensive during this time. Should you have to book during the season, do so well in advance to garner your best deal.

Tip Buying wedding gowns online can save you hundreds of dollars, but be sure to do it very early to allow you time to get your gown altered when you receive it. However, you should figure in the cost of alterations when calculating your savings.

Planning a wedding, whether for yourself or for a friend, can be an overwhelming process. To help you make confident decisions as you confront the many options, here are a selection of tips and suggestions for creating a beautiful and memorable occasion.

Try to make your wedding day more personal by using elements that symbolize you and your future spouse’s relationship and personalities. Think of a theme that truly represents the two of you as a couple.

Tip If you want your reception to stand out, go with ethnic themed catering! Too many people serve up chicken and steak, so go against the grain and spice things up. Variety will give your guests something to remember.

Use a friend’s property to host your wedding. Having your wedding in someone’s yard or even farm can reduce wedding costs. Saving money on the venue will allow you to hire people to set up and clean up.

While it may seem obvious, remember that who you plan to marry should be the biggest consideration of all! Never rush into this decision that will change your life. Carefully think about that person and the things you cannot live without and the things that might drive you crazy.

Tip Add decorative items in your wedding. Make sure that some of the accessories you have are included in the wedding.

Even if your gut tells you otherwise, you should never commit to a wedding photographer without considering several other options. You don’t want to end up with wedding pictures that you’re unhappy with. It is smart to look online for user reviews of photographers or seek personal recommendations from those you trust.

Brides with sensitive skin can de-stress before a trip down the aisle by adopting a skincare routine that creates a glowing, revitalized appearance that won’t cause breakouts, hives, or irritation. Find a facial treatment with brightening and skin-soothing ingredients like sea salts, rose, creamy scrubs and oatmeal proteins.

Avoid having guests wait while taking the photos. Get as many pictures as possible before the ceremony. Pictures with the parents should be done before too.

When inviting loved ones to destination weddings, try finding out if they wish to stay for your honeymoon, too. By staying longer, they will save money because hotels offer discounts for people that stay longer. That will also help them to have a great day and a wonderful vacation!

Tip Have a mid-afternoon wedding reception. Three or four o’clock is ideal.

Try to plan your reception for the afternoon. People drink less during this time and you will not spend as much on alcohol. Having your wedding during the midday can also cut food costs and even get you a discount for booking during the day.

Be sure you place an an even numer of guests at each table at your reception. If you group your guests together by age, they will have more in common in terms of conversation topics.

Tip Provide your guests with an online itinerary of events so that everyone, including out-of-town attendees, know what they should be scheduling and planning to attend. Your guests will appreciate knowing where they are expected and at what time; consider making a separate schedule for members of the wedding party.

The lighting in your venue should be able to be dimmed. This might seem like a trivial detail, but you want to be able to lower the light for your first romantic dance as a married couple and increase the lighting for other moments of the reception. Be sure to ask the if the venue has this feature before you commit to it.

If a bride and groom are from a different culture, be sure that you have both of the traditions represented in the wedding. Then try to get a reception set up that shows the other side of the marriage if possible. This will create a beautiful blend of traditions for the couple and their families.

Tip Every aspect of a wedding should be planned in minute detail. You want to engage and excite all those who have chosen to be part of your special day.

Hopefully you have just received a mini-education on wedding preparations that you can use to put together a magnificent and memorable occasion. These tips can help reduce your stress for planning a memorable wedding for the groom and bride.

If you intend to hold your wedding outdoors, devise a contingency plan in case weather or other problems prevent the wedding from going smoothly. Look into renting a couple of tents, or find a location that has a community hall in addition to an outdoor space. Set up planks to prevent your guests from getting mud or dirt on their shoes.

Need A Good Source Of Ideas About Travel Then Continue On!

No matter why you’re travelling, taking a trip is a lot of fun. Of course, you do need to follow a few guidelines to make it that way. This piece targets some great advice that you can easily use for your next adventure. Everyone has different ideas when it comes to travel, but the following tips will be of great help.

Tip On your travels it is best to avoid using a public computer for sensitive information such as checking your bank account. Your information may be tracked by keyloggers or malware.

Don’t bring extra valuables that you don’t need. If you are bringing your valuables on a trip, there is more of a chance that they will get lost or stolen.

Tip Take a minimum of valuable items with you when you travel. An excess of valuables will make you an obvious target for theft.

Try your best to get an aisle seat on the plane. Window seats can be very restricting in terms of bathroom access and overhead storage access.

Tip If you are traveling to a less developed country and you have security concerns in a hotel, take along a doorstop. The little rubber or wooden wedges can be used to keep your door shut, although they are often used to keep doors open.

It is important for you to be conscientious of food allergies when you travel to foreign lands. Especially if your allergies are severe, you should learn the names of the foods in whatever language is necessary. This helps ensure that the wait staff is clearly informed of your allergies in case of an emergency.

Tip Register for price-watching websites. This is offered by several websites and lets you input your most traveled destinations, and it keeps an eye on them for you.

If immunizations are required for any country you are visiting, be sure to carry along proof of vaccination. You never know when you may need it, so it should be on your person at all times. If you do not have the proper paperwork, those who handle travelers will simply not be allowed to let you pass a certain point and at this stage you will be held for what could be days until they know for sure you are not a threat to spread an illness.

Tip If you really don’t want to leave your pet at home, try vacationing in a place where she can accompany you. Vacations that are pet-friendly are becoming more commonplace, with a lot of hotels offering promotions for travelers with pets.

When flying, never assume that the airline will tend to your every need, even on lengthy flights. If you think they will come in handy, pack a travel pillow, a light blanket and comfortable headphones. You may also want to pack along a few snacks so you can have something substantial to eat during your flight.

Tip Whatever mode of transportation you choose, when traveling with a toddler, be sure to bring along lots of activities to keep him occupied. Try to bring along a few favorite toys.

If you are planning a hotel stay, especially in an area that is less safe, pack a doorstop in with your belongings. These little wedges are generally used to keep doors open, but they can hold doors closed, too.

Tip When you go on a trip, you may want to bring some of home along with you. Just bring the toiletry items that you really need.

Before you leave on your next adventure, you need to be as prepares as possible by following the suggestions in the above article. You may not use every idea, but you are bound to find something that is of use.

Tip Keep your travel items together. Do not waste time scouring you home for all of the items you need.

Simple Tips To Pull Of The Wedding Of Your Dreams

Weddings are memorable experiences that take a lot of planning and preparation. Those last few weeks the stress can really build. With the right advice you should be able to plan your wedding day without any major hassles. Here are some great tips that will make your wedding planning a breeze.

Rehearse your walk in advance of the big day. Do this at your actual wedding site to make sure you’re familiar with the floor there. By doing this, you will not have any issues with obstructions in the floor or nervousness from those watching you during the big moment.

Try for a date that is not in the middle of wedding season. The most expensive period will be between late spring and fall. Venues tend to be pricier during these months. If you want to book your wedding at those times, make sure you are booking far enough in advance so you get a great deal.

Purchasing a wedding gown online may save you several hundred dollars initially. While buying a dress online may be less expensive, alterations can quickly add to the cost. Budget in this additional cost.

Ask the members of your reception who plan to give a speech to practice them with you so you can vet their content. There will be people of all ages present, and what may seem funny to a younger person may not be humorous to an older crowd.

Strive to incorporate personal elements in your wedding, things that accurately reflect you and your future spouse. Your wedding theme should reflect your shared journey with your partner, from the beginning to the present.

Look for a unique touch with your food such a ethnic theme, a style of cooking or something else to add flair. Chicken and steak are nice but they are nothing special, so look for foods that are unique and have a special flavor to them. Variety is important and will make the dinner memorable.

Getting married soon? Don’t even think about crash dieting to fit into your dress. You are going to find yourself dehydrated and lightheaded if trying to lose weight too quickly prior to your wedding. You may even faint while saying your vows. You can always choose a dress that utilizes a corset so that you are able to take your dress in for the moment.

One of the most important things in a wedding is the that the couple enjoy their special day. Togetherness needs to be at the forefront of your minds when life starts throwing you curve balls. With any luck, you can have a great wedding day that will create memories you will cherish forever.

Princess Cruises Announces Full 2012-2013 Cruise and Cruisetour Season

Santa Clarita, Calif. (Vocus/PRWEB) March 17, 2011

Princess Cruises today opened its entire 2012-2013 season for booking, offering an extensive selection of worldwide sailings – a total of nearly 600 cruise options on 150 itineraries to more than 300 destinations around the world.

For the first time, the line has simultaneously launched its full slate of cruises which include Princess’ largest Europe deployment, an expanded Alaska schedule, new sailings from Galveston, more South American options with two ships sailing around Cape Horn, and more West Coast sailings to Hawaii, Mexico and along the California coast than ever before.

A detailed overview of Princess’ 2012-2013 cruise season can be found here.

“We know that many of our passengers are advance planners, and would like to see the full breadth of our cruise itineraries to decide where to vacation next with us,” said Jan Swartz, Princess Cruises executive vice president. “So for the first time we’ve released all of our itineraries at once so they have the entire world at their fingertips as they’re planning their next cruise.”

Among the line’s offerings for the 2012-2013 season, Princess will begin sailing to the Hawaiian Islands from San Francisco, will offer longer 14-day Australia & New Zealand itineraries, and will once again sail to the Western Caribbean from Galveston, Texas. More ships will sail in South America and Alaska, and several ships will make regional debuts, including Grand Princess’ first ever sailings on the West Coast and Caribbean Princess’ maiden European deployment.

Cruisetours combining a cruise and land experience will enable passengers to more fully explore Alaska, Europe, Canada and New England, Asia, Australia and South America.

Highlights of Princess’ 2012- 2013 season include:

ALASKA

Princess draws on more than 40 years of experience cruising the 49th state, offering Gulf of Alaska and Inside Passage sailings with an extensive selection of cruisetours to the heart of Alaska. The 2012 program will include a seven-ship deployment, including a fourth ship added to the Voyage of the Glaciers route, and three ships sailing the Inside Passage. All cruisetour options will continue to include Alaska’s top two attractions – Denali and Glacier Bay National Parks, and Princess will take more passengers to Glacier Bay than any other cruise line.

Following Through With Your Wedding Planning Correctly

Keep in mind that religion plays a central role in not just your wedding, but your future marriage. Discuss religion with both your future spouse and their family members so that you can develop a strong understanding of their beliefs.

Tip Buying a wedding gown can be very expensive. You might want to consider a dress which is not categorized specifically for the bride.

Weddings are fun as well as beautiful, but a lot goes into their planning. One can get stressed out when planning a wedding, especially within the few weeks prior to the big day. Great planning can reduce this tension. The following guidelines can really help.

Your wedding photos are important as they will be the memories you carry with you for the years to come. Choose the best photographer you can, even if it costs you extra. You want to be sure that your wedding will be remembered fondly.

Tip If you’re terrified at the thought of spending a fortune on a wedding cake loaded with calories, talk to local bakeries about something with a smaller portion size. Alternatively, consider something like low-fat cupcakes, gluten-free cake, fruit-filled low calorie cakes, or other such healthy alternatives.

When planning a wedding, alcohol needs to be a consideration as to what type you want to serve, as well as what the costs are going to be. An open bar that is available all evening can quickly become a very costly endeavor. If holding the wedding at an outside venue, they may have alcohol serving options available that can control costs.

Brides should take the time to practice walking in their wedding shoes and dress so that they will be comfortable and graceful on their big day. If you are worried about a twisted ankle, choose attractive flats instead. Reducing the risk of falling is better than going with the best-looking footwear.

Tip This person should be able to tote around all of your things for you. They can help to gather up the family for group shots as well.

Use friends or family to lend you some property for a wedding. If you’re in touch with people with a farm or a big backyard, this can be a cheap place for you to host a wedding ceremony. Saving money on the venue will allow you to hire people to set up and clean up.

Your guests shouldn’t wait while you are having pictures taken. These pictures should be done beforehand. Even pictures with parents can be shot in advance, reducing the time that guests must wait for you to arrive at your reception.

Tip A reception held around lunchtime is a great idea. Choosing a midday reception may help you to cut down on alcohol cost, since many people would be less likely to drink early in the day.

If you’re a bride that has sensitive skin, then you want to pay close attention to your skin care regimen when your big day is approaching. Consider natural ingredients and treatments that will brighten your complexion.

Even if your dress is picked and already paid for, it is a good idea to keep it safely at the shop until the big day. Bringing it home could expose it to dust or dirt, getting it stained or other damages. This will keep your dress as fresh as possible.

Tip Consider placing your colorful cake on a piece of fabric or tablecloth in a coordinating color. To make things interesting, fabric can be solid, patterned or heavily textured materials of silk, satin or velvet.

Use a mirror to visualize and practice when you walk down the aisle, especially if you plan to wear heels. If you fear turning your ankle awkwardly, think about flat heels instead. Having less than sexy footwear is an easy trade-off for not falling on your derriere!

You can look for local talent in many places; Craigslist is a great start to find people. Be certain to take the time to meet them and interview them before making any agreements or giving them money.

Tip You possibly want to think about fusing two or multiple menus together making the food available diverse and comfortable for everyone present. Add a twist with ethnic dessert options, drinks, or edible wedding favors.

In any wedding, the most important thing is the fact that the two people are perfect for each other. No matter how well you think you know someone, life can get complicated at times and you want to become closer at those times rather than allow circumstances to separate you. With any luck, you can have a great wedding day that will create memories you will cherish forever.

If you are going to be giving one of the wedding speeches, make sure you plan it out and practice enough. A poorly planned wedding speech can make the audience uncomfortable or bored, and leave you feeling disgruntled and disappointed in yourself.

Tips And Hints On Choosing Your Bridal Party

Weddings are big occasions for both the families and the couple. Lots of folks assume that a great deal of money is necessary for a great wedding, but they are wrong. You don’t have to go into debt in order to have a beautiful wedding. The following article will give you some great ideas for cutting costs while planning your wedding.

If you choose to take care of your own food serving at your wedding, try going to wholesale stores, such as Costco. Shopping wholesale renders significant savings for food. Ask friends to help on food, too.

You save large amounts of money by purchasing your wedding dress online. However, it is crucial that you do it far in advance, should it need any alterations. A certain person claims to have spent only $100 or her gown, but had to spend another $200 to get it altered. Include this additional cost when you plan for your budget.

Hold a dress rehearsal for all members of the party that are giving speeches at the reception. This will give them a chance to practice, and you’ll also be able to make sure no inappropriate remarks are planned. There are a lot of different age groups at a wedding. This makes some jokes told by the younger crowd inappropriate to older people.

If you are hoping to wear some special jewelry of your wedding day but only have a limited amount of money left in your budget, consider renting some diamond pieces. This can help you to look more stunning while not breaking the bank so you can stick to the budget you have created.

Don’t forget about transportation! Try to have limos and taxis available for those who do not have a ride to take them back to their hotel at the end of the night. This allows people to enjoy themselves and not have to worry about drinking and driving after the reception.

Take a long time to write your vows, as this is something that is very important towards your husband or wife. Be clear about the fact that both parties must make a number of sacrifices and be consistent to the commitment of marriage. Let your partner know how much you adore them and that you really do want to spend forever with them.

Only place a few flowers in the centerpieces at your reception tables. Usually, the flowers are only in your guests’ way. You also might want to take into consideration that some guests may be allergic to the pollen in the flowers. Because of this, you should think about putting candles that are non-scented onto the table in order to achieve a more romantic look.

Though it requires some effort and time to plan, a wedding doesn’t have to cost a lot for it to be great. Implement these ideas and suggestions in order to have an unforgettable and joyous wedding.

Ceridian Employer Services Helps Employers Understand and Benefit From New Hire Reporting Legislation Effective October 1.

MINNEAPOLIS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Sept. 2, 1997–

Millions of dollars saved by preventing fraud in

unemployment compensation, transitional assistance for

dependent children and by enforcing child support payments.

States already applying new hire reporting have helped save millions of dollars in unemployment compensation fraud. Tennessee reports savings of more than $11.4 million in unemployment compensation benefits. Massachusetts combated fraud in Transitional Assistance for Dependent Children, saving $14.4 million in welfare fraud and aiding the Department of Revenue in collecting an additional $15.4 million in child support payments. Another $23.1 million was saved in Massachusetts because many families now receiving the child support payments could stop receiving public assistance.

Despite the direct benefits of new hire reporting, unless employers have an experienced payroll services provider, these benefits may be out of reach. With a new hire reporting deadline that is now less than one month away, many businesses, particularly those with employees in multiple states, are still not ready to comply.

The struggle by many employers to meet the Oct. 1 reporting deadline is largely due to the state-based system of new hire reporting established under the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1997. Although states must meet certain minimum federal requirements, they are given a great deal of independence and flexibility. The result is a complicated maze of inconsistent due dates, reporting periods, information requirements and file formats. Even the agency responsible for processing new hire reports varies by state.

“Employers who are not prepared for the new reporting requirements will likely experience considerable confusion, lost staff time and reduced productivity, missed reporting deadlines and penalties for noncompliance,” explains Carl Keil, president of Ceridian Employer Services. “These problems could be compounded if companies have employees in several states.”

Debera Salam, director of the national Employer Coalition on Child Support Enforcement (ECCSE), knows that employers are concerned about the extra time and work that may be involved in new hire reporting. “But employers need to understand that this legislation will help reduce unemployment insurance and workers’ compensation fraud, which costs them money,” noted Salam. “Overpayment of workers’ compensation benefits can, for example, result in increased premium rates. And incorrect and excessive unemployment insurance payments can deplete an employer’s reserve UI account. With respect to new hire reporting, there really is a return on investment for employers.”

Ceridian Employer Services has committed extensive resources to providing employers with new hire reporting solutions. Its New Hire Reporting (NHR) Service automatically generates and transmits new hire reports to each state in which a customer has employees, and as Ceridian continues to work with state agencies in developing their new hire reporting capability, they are using the most efficient and reliable technology available for transmitting new hire data.

Ceridian pioneers automated new hire reporting

Since 1994, Ceridian has spearheaded a joint effort with employers and the state of Hawaii to improve the new hire reporting system. The Ceridian solution automatically collects and sends new hire data to the appropriate state agency in the proper format and by specified deadlines.

According to Hunter Monson, a Hawaii state legislator, the new system has increased compliance among the 3,000 participating employers. “The state has been able to reduce its labor costs, plus the reports come in faster,” said Monson. “Our new hire reporting system is now much more effective, thanks to automated reporting.”

Now, Ceridian’s pioneering efforts will benefit all of its customers. To support new hire reporting and other data distribution services, Ceridian’s Central Transmission Center processes and redistributes new employee data that complies with the new regulations. As of September 1997, all Ceridian customers will have access to this automated reporting system.

The new hire reporting process requires no additional data entry and is completely transparent to payroll processing staff. With the system’s prompt, accurate filing for all newly hired and rehired employees, employers will enjoy reduced administrative burden and less risk of fines and penalties from late or incorrect filing. Compliance reports will be provided so employers can see all data transmitted to the states. Additionally, working with states and employers to develop a cost-effective new hire reporting system, Ceridian continuously monitors new hire statutes and procedures in all 50 states so changes can be quickly incorporated into its system.

All employers can track the hot issues directly affecting human resources and the payroll industry by visiting http://ces.ceridian.com. With reports from company experts stationed on the front lines in Washington, D.C., site visitors can learn more about new hire reporting, find out how the Year 2000 will affect computer systems around the world or prepare for the next big payroll issue looming on the horizon, such as wage assignments (garnishments) calculations and third-party payments.

Recent enhancements to Ceridian’s Signature(R) payroll system include the introduction of customer service on the Web and a combination wage and tax audit report that reduces the amount of paper received for an audit. Combined with CD-ROM reporting technology, these enhancements help human resource and payroll professionals save their companies time, office space and storage costs while complying with rapidly changing federal regulations. Ongoing improvements to Ceridian’s core payroll service also allow employees to create new and expanded categories for information; multiple 401(k) deductions for one employee to a single limit; and better accommodate mobile workers with local and regional tax processing support.

The 10 most overrated vacation spots in the whole world

So you’re going on summer vacation. That’s your first mistake. Why summer? Sure, our grandparents and parents took their vacations between June and September, but they had good reason. In their day, the summer heat brought urban life to a standstill. People who could afford it headed for the mountains and the seashore; resorts were crammed, beaches mobbed. And every summer you’ll still find them that way.

But think about it: Eighty-three years have passed since Willis Carrier invented the air conditioner. That doesn’t mean that summers are any less hot and humid, but at least they’re bearable. If you work in an air-conditioned building and sleep in an air-conditioned bedroom, why join the summer-vacation crush? Why not save up your vacation money for some other season, when resorts are less hectic, Sunbelt beaches less crowded and prices more reasonable?

All right, it’s because you’re a creature of habit. You’re accustomed to summer vacations and can’t change. Have it your own way. But if you’re determined to spend your travel money between now and September – and your vacation plans aren’t yet set in concrete – a few words of advice are in order on where not to go.

I’m not talking about the vacation spots you’ve already been warned against – spots like Miami Beach and Atlantic City. I mean highly touted places where you’ll spend an arm and a leg and return home asking your spouse, “Whose idea was that, anyway?” Here they are, then, in alphabetical order – the places cited in a survey of the well-traveled as the 10 most overrated vacation spots in the world:

ACAPULCO

Like Carmen Miranda and the vision of romantic Latin America she sold in the 1940s, this resort is strictly out of the past. It’s also garish, overcrowded, overpriced and not especially hospitable to tourists from the United States.

Acapulco horror stories about tourist run-ins with the local constabulary and greedy merchants are a peso a dozen. The most frequently told stories involve U.S. tourists held by police because they were passengers in taxicabs involved in accidents.

Under Mexican law, a passenger has to have insurance in the event of an accident or spend a few hours at police headquarters untangling matters. If, however, you don’t mind taking out special insurance, there are other spots in Mexico – Cancun, for example – that might satisfy your craving for sunshine and palm trees.

AMSTERDAM

The dullest, most unkempt major city in Western Europe. You like classic architecture and museums? You’ll find them here, but only after slogging through clutter and traveling along canals that haven’t been cleaned since the German occupation.

A recent visitor to this graffiti-ridden tourist trap was greeted on his cab ride into town by “Free Bobby Seale” signs left over from the ’60s. If you have an urge to visit Holland, make it Rotterdam or the Hague.

BANGKOK

The Tijuana of the Orient, this is the “exotic” east at its raunchiest. It’s a great place for males who like a ratio of three hookers to every tourist. A recent American visitor reports that he was propositioned no fewer than five times on a three-block walk from a restaurant to his hotel. Not bad for an 85-year-old gent.

HONOLULU

Speaking of leis, the 50th state is still a great vacation spot – but not this capital city, which has been afflicted with terminal tourism. L.A.’s urban sprawl has spanned the waters. It won’t be long before they start making hula skirts out of tinsel. The way one long-time traveler puts it, Honolulu is now “Sunset Boulevard with a beach” or “M Street on a Saturday night.” Try one of the other islands of Hawaii for inviting beaches and clear blue sky – Maui, for example.

MAINE

But if what you’re looking for is inviting beaches, clear blue sky, ice-cold ocean, and mosquitoes as large, loud and numerous as the Stukas over London in 1940,try Maine. A recent traveler to Monhegan Island says she now defines “rustic” as dirty, dark and damp.

And if you’re immune to mosquitoes, there are always the giant black flies to bug you. They’ve actually been known to shut down villages when they appear like an aerial plague in a Hitchcock film. Not that Maine is the worst vacation bargain in New England. For a really overrated New England resort, there’s always:

MARTHA’S VINEYARD

The mid-life preppy summer capital of the world, this is a fine place to spend a vacation if you don’t mind interminable waits for the ferry, mob scenes and out-of-line prices – not to mention local hostility. As far as the permanent residents are concerned, you’re as much a foreigner here as you are in Acapulco. Let the social regulars from Georgetown and Elaine’s have it. They’ve learned the language and the foreign exchange rates.

NEW ORLEANS

If you’re under some Yankee delusion that this is a Gulf Coast town with beaches, re-check your geography. Lake Pontchartrain was a fine place for swimming and boating 40 years ago, but it’s long since been put off-limits by pollution. That leaves the city itself, and people who knowingly travel to New Orleans in the summer would better spend their money on long-term therapy.

The humidity in New Orleans on a summer day will leave you limp. The food is as good as you’ve heard, but on a 92-degree day, who has an appetite? If you haven’t been there, save your taste for Creole and Cajun cooking for spring or fall. But forget the overrated Mardi Gras season, a once-great tradition turned into another Fort Lauderdale orgy for the Doonesbury generation.

PARADISE ISLAND, BAHAMAS

“This is the kind of gambling resort,” says one observer, “where the people go at it with a desperate look in their eyes, as if they’re saying, `If I lose, how am I going to get home?’ ” In other words, Atlantic City South. If you crave gambling and sunshine, Las Vegas – tasteless neon and all – would be a better summer choice.

For one thing, there’s nothing going on at Paradise Island besides gambling: no shows, food ranging from mediocre to poor, and crummy service. The best that can be said for this tourist trap is that you lose your money there on your own terms, which is more than can be said for:

ROME

I know, Paris has always been regarded as the European capital that treats U.S. tourists most shabbily. But in recent years Rome has come on strong, and it’s now a place where Americans are regarded by the native population as so many mullets ready to be reeled in and de-boned.

And when the law-abiding natives aren’t taking you, there’s always the other kind to watch out for. Street crime in Rome has been institutionalized, with tourists a prime target for looters on bikes and even in limousines. If you travel in Rome in the summer, chances are you won’t be wearing mink. But our advice is clear. When in Rome, do as the smart Romans would: Leave your valuables (this includes your Timex watch and any currency above $5) in your hotel’s safe.

WORLD’S FAIR

Anywhere, any year. There isn’t any World Fair to visit this summer, but there are more being planned, so take this as fair forewarning: There hasn’t been a good World’s Fair since the New York model in 1939. The ’64 New York fair wasn’t bad, but the truth is that the international exposition is a relic of the past.

In the old days, before the airplane and mass travel, such events had a gee-whiz impact. But in an age when we’ve seen men, women and U.S. senators in space, the wonders-of-technology theme of the World’s Fairs has lost its punch. If you’re looking for real wonders of technology, go to Epcot in Florida.

ABOUT AIRPORTS

So much for the 20 most overrated vacation spots. No warning guide to summer travelers would be complete, however, without some comment about airports.

Even if you’ve picked the right vacation spot , getting there can be miserable if you have to connect with a flight at the wrong air terminal. The airport horror story is a staple of post-summer office conversation, but by consensus the following stand out as the worst of domestic airports – that is, those most likely to ruin the first day of your vacation: Atlanta’s Hartsfield, Chicago’s O’Hare, Denver’s Stapleton, and New York’s JFK.

Princess Cruises’ 2012-2013 Hawaii, Tahiti and South Pacific Program Offers More Cruises to Hawaii, Plus Favorite Routes to French Polynesia and Samoa

Santa Clarita, Calif. (PRWEB) January 06, 2012

Mention “paradise” and most people will conjure up images of pristine beaches and lush, tropical islands. Princess Cruises passengers can make paradise a reality with 10 itinerary choices to the breathtaking islands of Hawaii, Tahiti and the South Pacific between fall 2012 and spring 2013.

New next season, Princess will offer more Hawaii cruises than ever before, with four ships sailing roundtrip to the islands from both Los Angeles and San Francisco. In addition, the renovated Grand Princess will make her debut voyages to Hawaii as part of her first West Coast season.
