‘My Fair Wedding’: Hawaiian Luau Bride

So many wonderful things have happened to this week’s episode’s “My Fair Wedding” bride. Kristin not only fell in love with her best friend Leo and the two became engaged, but she’s also lost 140 pounds.

The weight loss didn’t come easily to her. The journey started when she had a stroke. That terrified her so much that it scared her into shedding the pounds. And Leo, her best friend and fiancé, was right by her side losing weight with her. Between the two of them, they lost 191 pounds.

Now all Kristin wants, besides being married to Leo, is to have a Hawaiian Luau wedding right in their home town of Anaheim, California. And who better to make this dream come true but David Tutera.

When David entered Kristin’s house, he saw a table full of pink centerpieces, lots of fake flowers because the couple couldn’t afford real flowers, coconuts, and other kitschy items that screamed Hawaii. The soon-to-be bride also wanted to make sure all her guests received leis when they came into the wedding celebration. David liked the lei part, but the rest of the items had to go.

First thing David needed to do was to take a look at the bridesmaid’s dresses. Instead of looking like a dress for a wedding, these dresses looked more appropriate for a beach party. It had a halter top with a flower print, and to David’s horror, the bridesmaids were not going to wear shoes for the ceremony! Ha, like David Tutera was ever going to let them go barefoot.

On to the wedding gown. Kristin modeled her plunging, sweet heart neck-lined dress. It was obvious that the bride was happy especially when her face lit up as she wore it.

But David was going to make lots of changes for this wedding, including a change of venue since the wedding was going to be held in the bride’s backyard.

The first place David takes his bride is to find her a second perfect wedding dress that will showcase how amazing Kristin looks but that will also make her feel like a bride. This gown would be worn after the couple were married while celebrating at the reception.

The first dress was a light purple with feathers on the skirt portion of it; the second was white and really accentuated the bride’s new figure. It was also a size 6, and Kristin used to be a size 24. David was very impressed. The third dress was a strapless, pink fuchsia color. It had full length long pieces hanging from the side. This was Kristin’s favorite.

When they were done picking a wedding dress for the bride off they went to find the perfect bridesmaid dress.

The bridesmaid who met them at the dress shop had to choose from three different gowns. One was light pink with tiered colors that went from light pink on the top, medium pink on the middle of the dress, and the bottom portion of it was red. The second was a short purple dress, and the third was pink and more formal than the first two. The third was both the bride and her maid’s favorite.

David then took the “My Fair Wedding” bride off to a perfume store where she was going to create her own perfume that she would wear at her wedding. Kristin named her perfume “Unforgettable” because she would never forget this occasion. She was also going to get some beautiful perfume to give to her bridesmaids as thank you gifts.

Then they went to the flower store to buy real flowers that will be at the wedding, not the fake ones that Kristin was going to use at first.

Kristin was soon crying when David told her that she would not be getting married in her back yard but at the Grand Event Center in Long Beach, California.

Finally the wedding day arrives. Kristin and her bridesmaids get the dresses they wanted along with shoes that match.

As David is admiring the bridesmaids just before the wedding, he asks that Leo, the groom, come out. Leo will be greeting his bride before the nuptials. Kristin comes out and cries when she sees her full wedding party waiting for her outside. Leo tells his bride how beautiful she looks.

Of course, the wedding is perfect and very Hawaiian with lots of orchids and leis for all the guests. David even arranged for entertainment—fire dancers. The fireworks at the end of the celebration completed this Hawaiian Luau “My Fair Wedding.”
